Cat with kidney disease

Hi, sorry not been on here for a little while. Harry has been on purina renal food for a good few months. I have to blend the food to get him to eat it. He's also having mirtazapine every 3-4days to help with appetite which is up and down. Was thinking of trying ipakitine and adding this to normal cat food. Got appt with the vet on Tuesday to discuss things. Any recommendations? Will still have to blend wet food as he will only lick the gravy off it.
