Urgent; animal sanctuaries and animal welfare organisations must be allowed to open to the public or we will lose them!

I am sure everyone connected with this forum is an animal lover and will be concerned about the potential disaster that the government is creating by refusing to let animal sanctuaries, zoos and so on open to the public, in many cases indefinitely, even though the public can now flock to beaches and other uncontrolled open spaces. There will be a debate on the government's refusal to allow these organisations to open to the public, despite all the measures they have taken at great expense to make them safe, on Thursday 11th June. Please ask your MP to attend and speak up for sanctuaries, zoos etc.. They are losing vast amounts of money through being closed to the public and cannot sustain this for much longer.

(Many zoos run vital conservation projects and also house important groups of endangered animals; they are not the old fashioned places where people simply go to gawk at exotic animals that they used to be!)

Details of how to respond here:

Please also if possible sign the petition for funding help for these organisations : https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/308733 until they can open again.

Thank you!

David.

P.S. The link https://biaza.org.uk/news/detail/yourzoosneedyou-? will not work without the final -? which seems to be missed when the link is clicked on directly; to go to the BIAZA webpage please copy the text of the link and paste it in to your browser. Thanks.
