Last evening little Alfie was put to sleep following a long illness. Our hearts are broken.

Sorry to read about Alfie - I have lost 2 cats in as many months, 1 to cancer and 1 to a car accident. I can understand your grief.

No matter how much you realise it's time for them and how prepared you are, it's still a terrible shock, isn't it?

Love and hugs, Lil x

Very sad to see you have lost Alfie. There comes a time when you can do no more for them.

Thank you for your kind comments. It’s been hard watching him fading and the last few days were the worst. The time was right to let him go. His little brother has been looking for him and hiding under the bed so not sure how to help him. I suppose he will adjust in time.

Hi Catfan please accept my sympathies on the passing of your much loved Alfie. It’s never an easy decision. Be gentle with yourself & I’m sure you know that you’ll receive heaps of support here. RIP little Alfie & have fun at “The Bridge”. Vivian

So sorry too hear about Alfie ,losing a beloved pet ,is heartbreaking ,I feel your loss
And pain ,how is his brother coping ? ,my other cat basil missed his brother Bertie,
For a short while ,it was heartbreaking watching him look for him ,but now 10 months on ,
Basil is acting like he never had a brother ,I believe cat grief is different than others ,
Now I am not saying ,they don’t feel a loss ,but it’s way shorter than ours ,Basil has
Moved on ,leaving me ,too grive on my own ,but having basil is a great comfort
And always will have a link too Bertie ,even though basil is his own cat ,I feel
Bertie lives on in him ,I do hope you feel the same about your other cat
And he brings you joy and comfort ,
In time
Take care x
