My Mouse - Spring 2002 - Oct 28 2019

Post by Lilith »

She left me on the 28th October; she had been getting very very doddery for a while though clearly not in pain, and her world slowly contracted to favourite chair and heated mat - with visits to the nearby feeding bowl. She was a gannet up till the end - little else seemed to register with her but if food was there, so was Mouse.

The vet came out to her which saved a lot of bewilderment, I hope.

Goodbye, Mousey - I miss you x

Oh Lilith, I'm so sorry to hear this - Mouse was a real CatChat cat, and will be sorely missed by us all, though of course not as much as by you

it sounds as if you managed a good passing for her, which is all any of us can ask

Very sad to read you have lost Mouse, may she rest in peace. It won't be the same without Mouse tales round here.

Thanks Ruth - sorry I didn't reply sooner but early on Saturday morning a pipe exploded in the bathroom and what they call a 'torrential downpour' shot through the livingroom ceiling and the electricity went off. Only got it back on yesterday afternoon. I was SO glad Mousey wasn't there - she lived on one of the livingroom chairs and would have been terrified out of her mind. Even the dreaded Molly was a bit ruffled.

'What's all that water, Lil, and why's it doing that?'

And no, I couldn't get the damn stopcock to turn off until a good friend who keeps strange hours like me came out and gave it the benefit of his manly muscles ... that was fun, that was ... not ...

Oh ps - SO glad you got Saturn back safely! You must have been worried sick x

Oh gods, Lilith, if you'll pardon the phrase, it never rains but it pours, a leak like that was the last thing you needed.

Yes, I am so glad Saturn returned on his own although it did take him about 48 hours to recover back to a semblance of his old self, he is still staying close to home and close to me. I would say he has learned his lesson, and he has, until the next time he decides to get too nosy for his own good.
