I hope the sun shines all day and it goes really well.
Have you heard of Event Brite? http://www.eventbrite.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Also, Meet Up? http://www.meetup.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They are sites where you can list your event/gathering/group, etc. The sites are also for people to search for things to do in their area. It will help people see your event who would not normally do so. It could get you more visitors and more adopters, donations, people aware of you, etc.
Also, most areas have a local free paper which lists events, also community and church websites are great to spread the word too, as are local radio stations. Generally there are a lot of places you can promote your event for free. If they ask for payment, stress it is for charity, or offer them sponsorship (just give them a shout out on the day for their help, say thanks on the websites, places will normally go for it). Fliers in vets and pet shops are great too. Also, pop in to the local schools and ask them to put fliers up and to let the kids know during assembly, etc.
Hope these ideas help you spread the word more and raise lots of money on the day.
