Adopting friends cat

Post by Elainedevos72 »

I am adopting a friends 8 year old cat as they are moving to rented accommodation and they are not allowed pets.
She is being brought to the house tomorrow at 6.15pm and I was wondering what opinion was on whether this is a good time.
Baring in mind I will have to keep her inside for a few weeks until she's settled, would it be better to get her in the morning so that she has time to become familiar with me and the house before she is kept in (when she is used to being out at night) and we all disappear off to bed.

To be honest I suspect the change will overwhelm her a bit so the timing probably won't matter. It's best that you start her off in a quiet room of her own, have a read of the Cat Chat advice page on new cats, which will help:

Good luck with that. Hope every thing goes well for you both.
