New cats in the home?
New cats in the home?
Hello Peeps
I sadly lost my little tortie aged 15 in November and would like to put the heartbeat back into the home. Years ago I did think of getting an additional puss cat but thought it might not be fair on Lucy as she had been a solo cat for so long.
I am trying to find an already bonded pair without much luck. Is it better to find two individual cats who are good with others and introduce them both to the home at the same time? Or, just have one now, allow them to settle then introduce a new one?
Anyone with experience of this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

That's great news, we love pics
Re: New cats in the home?
Sadly I am back on the hunt again as we had a phone call today saying they wanted my lovely girls back!! Poor cats had just under two hours in the car to get here and are now not very friendly to each other. They now have another journey to make back.
Can’t believe this has happened.
Being collected tonight before we get any more attached to them.

Re: New cats in the home?
Where did you get them from?
Re: New cats in the home?
Sadly not a rescue centre but a private sale. Been advertised since early December and we made contact 3rd Jan. hey cam back to us 9th Jan to say still available.
She had turned down previous people having them (they had kids, she didn't like them etc) as wanted a good home for them. They came from a nice clean house with lots of ground etc. Said that she couldn't cope any more with two cats and two dogs (all interacted very well with each other). She said she was ready to let them go so off we went.
Next day, boyfriend rings us to say she's in pieces and regrets what she has done. He collected them last night. If they had come from a rubbish home I would have stood my ground but stupidly, I liked her and felt for her. They aren't going to somewhere where they won't be well looked after but wished I could have a been a cow and said no

What an awkward situation to be in. I do hope you have better luck next
Re: New cats in the home?
Thanks. I have started looking at all the rescue centres listed on here and have made a tentative enquiry about a pair of seven month old girls via Cats Protection so we shall see.
