Post by Debyjones » Wed Apr 17, 2019 6:47 am

Our 2 cats are loving and we are gutted that we cannot take them abroad to live a vet advised us not to as we were getting them passports
The vet said they to old now and wouldn’t settle
Can anyone help please as travelling next Tuesday

how does that vet know if your cats wouldn't settle - much better with the owners they know than new ones, or a pen in a rescue

nor is 9 old these days - and personally I would be more inclined to take older cats with me than younger ones, as young cats are much easier to rehome

I'm shocked that your vet said this. As Kay said, 9 isn't old. Our cats lived to twice that age.

We moved house when they were 11 and they settled in a couple of days.

You obviously need to keep cats indoors for several weeks and only let them outside if the circumstances are right. There are some places where I wouldn't let my cats go outside because of coyotes, hunters, etc.
