Does anyone know how long I should keep my newly adopted cat from the rescue shelter indoors for? I've heard 3 and 6 weeks and not sure what's right?
Thanks

I've always done 4 weeks as long as you have adopted a friendly adult, timid cats or kittens require longer. It can be hard but better to persevere than risk them getting lost, as you have recently adopted, they have to get used to you as well as the surroundings. I'd start getting them to associate their name with treats.

Certainly at least 4 weeks. My old Misty (a timid 9 year old) needed 8 weeks.
