Is this cat really feral?

Post by Mausenmamma »

Hi,

When the lockdown happened, a man reached out for someone to feed the cat that visits his workplace on a light industrial estate; the business had closed down and he lives 30 miles away.

He's been feeding the cat daily for 2 years, has adopted her two kittens, had her neutered.

The business he worked for has gone bust, premises empty, he has a new job.

He and others have 'agreed' that the cat will make its way to someone else feeding (there is allegedly a guy on the estate who feeds a feral, but I haven't been able to find him).

I'm not happy to just abandon her; she has become more friendly every day I go to feed - I would like to rehome her/find a farm for her.

Thoughts welcome; I have two of my own who would not welcome her.

Hi,

Thank you for caring for this cat. The following links might be useful, if you haven’t already seen them:

Cat Chat’s information page on Feral Cats: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/about-feral-cats

Find your local cat rescue organisations here: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/cat-r ... uk-ireland

Not all rescues have the resources or the money to deal with ferals but most will be able to advise as to who will be able to assist. For a list of rescue organisations that may be able to offer specific feral cat assistance, please see our Feral / Farm Cats - Adoption, Help & Relocation page here: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/cats/feral-farm-cats

You might also wish to approach the following organisations for advice:

Cat Action Trust: http://www.catactiontrust.org.uk

Cat Action Trust 1977: http://www.cat77.org.uk

Cats Protection Helpline: 03000 12 12 12

Hope that helps.
