Rehoming advice needed asap

Post by Anon-SOP »

We recently got a cat and brought her home to our 2 other cats. She has become increasingly violent with the other 2, so we sought out advice. We have tried everything we were told to do, but no use. We woke up the other day to a scratch on our youngest cats face, and it is very frightening being woken up by them fighting and screaming at each other in the night. She also is not using her litter box, making the house depressing to live in. Again, we have tried everything to train her to use the litter box, but no use. We don't think she is a violent cat at all, we just think she is scared of the other 2 as they want to play but she is a bit more reserved, implying that she is an 'only cat' type of gal.

After many tears we came to the unfortunate decision to rehome her. However, we still love her. We want her to be re-homed in a safe and proper way, but at the same time we would like her to be re-homed as fast as possible as we are worried about the other cats, they must be scared! Does anyone have any advice on how to do this? We want her to have a loving family who can give her the help she needs, we just aren't the right fit for her.

There are so many pets that need rehoming right now, I don't have any advice but wish you and her well.

Only suggestion - perhaps she should be separated from the other two, especially at night ... surprised you haven't done this already. Keep your two safe from getting scratched and bitten and stop screeching in the night. That is the first rule of successful introductions anyway.

She is also more likely to use a tray if she is safely separated from other cats.

Can I ask where you got her from? If a rescue, they should be able to take her back. If possible, I would completely separate her from your others, she clearly isn't happy with other cats and that will be contributing to the toilet issues
