Advice on adopting

Post by gradgrind »

Hello,

I've tried a couple of the local adoption charities but they're a little fixed in their attitudes....

My Mum who is in her 80s and housebound would love a cat - ideally an indoor one. Even though I've explained what 'housebound' means, I'm just getting that a potential adopter must go to a shelter a few times to get to know the potential adoptee. If you know of any shelters in the Leicester South area who might be prepared to help out, please let me know.

She has enough pension to cover getting a cat-carer in daily to do the practical stuff.

Thanks for reading!

Sadly I don't in your area but don't give up hope I have a local one to me who are not fixed in their attitudes. It can be done! You could try the cats seeking homes section on this forum and if you are hoping for an indoor cat how about considering an FIV+ one, there is a section for those too. Whatever happens I wish you all the best in your search, I'm sure the purrfect puss will find its way to your mum.
