Missing Tabby cat - Bromley BR1 (Found!!!)

Post by Rae77 »

Lost much loved male Tabby cat - went missing from back garden in Bromley on afternoon of Sunday 22/6/14. He is 7 months old, neutered and microchipped; no collar. He has white front feet and white back legs. Not used to being outside so is very shy and may be hiding somewhere. Would be so grateful for any information 07718898053

Please read the guides on here and actively search for him - even after dark. if he's timid and not used to the outdoors he initially won't be far away but he'll be too scared to be exposed.

I am trying to get close to a cat who has arrived in my garden who is obviously lost but has been outside for long enough now to turn a bit 'feral' so suspicious and scared of humans. All cats have the potential to use their instincts for food when they've been lost a while - do try to find your boy quickly - ask neighbours if you can search sheds and gardens, as well as putting leaflets through doors . Concentrate on your immediate vicinity - a few doors either way - put his blankets or litter outside in the warm weather, near where he went missing (back or front) so that he can catch the smell of home. Some people have found hanging blankets or anything where the cat has left fur and scent (like a bed cover) on a washing line for the cat to smell.

Please keep us posted.

Thank you for the advice; had tried some things but now am trying all your suggestions. There have been 4 separate and pretty hopeful sightings of Eggleston in last few days so am remaining hopeful. Thanks again for the tips.

We got our boy back - thanks to some very kind neighbours who spotted him on their evening walk! He is a little spooked but hasn't stopped purring. Many thanks also to the Animal Search team for their tireless work on Weds helping us search and alerting the neighbourhood. All the sightings that got reported really helped us focus our searches.

If you are on here because you are still searching, please don't give up hope!

What stunning news! Thank you for letting us know, Rae77 - as you say it encourages others to be active and not to give up hope! Hope that precious boy stays close from now on - and what lovely neighbours you have who cared enough to spot him!
