That is Smoggy - the cheekiest of two black cats my girlfriend and I adopted just over 2 years ago. They were both abandoned too, at around 4 months old. I still can't understand why anyone would do such a thing, but in a way I'm glad they did as I couldn't imagine not having both of them around now.

Magic's doing fine, thanks. I had another day of squits yesterday, which was my own fault as I gave her too much kitten food (I was worried the Hills i/d wasn't giving her the right nutrients to grow). Went back to 1/4 wet kitten food and 3/4 Hills i/d (with kitten dry down all the time, which she does nibble on sometimes) and she's fine again - her system obviously isn't ready for kitten food!

She's got more energy every day, has been bombing round my bedroom this morning and then climbed onto my knee and fell asleep. :)

Please bear with me for the pics, it's a very busy week. So busy that I'm doing long hours and it didn't feel right to leave Magic on her own all day so she's coming to work with me, crate and all!

She's doing great, very lively and playful - she steams out of her pen and onto my lap as soon as I open the door, and she's managed to grab hold of the curtains from inside her pen and climb up them (as far as the pen will allow) and wake me up in the wee small hours for the last two mornings! Bless her! :D

It's been very handy that I've been unpacking and sorting clothes and textiles in quiet corner on my own this week, so I could just set the pen up nearby. She has had the odd visitor, though, and it's been good for her to meet some new people. She's just taken it all in her stride. :)

An up to date pic of Magic, as promised, and some good news - she's just gone off to her new home! She'll be living in a household of two cats and two dogs, and she's a confident little thing so I'm sure she'll be fine. I'm thrilled that she's gone so quickly as I felt so sorry for her all alone with only me and OH for company sometimes.

I noticed that her fur on the shaved patches has grown back mostly white, and if I blow on the rest of her coat I can see white hairs coming through. Weird! I looked it up and I believe it's called a 'fever coat' and is probably due to what happened to her and how ill she was - apparently she will eventually go back to being black.

What lovely news I didn't think she be with you for long. Nice that's she's gone to a house with other animals, hopefully they'll keep her busy :)

She looks beautiful with her glossy coat but still hadn't quite grown into those ears :)

She's lovely, and that's such good news. But I'm sure you are going to miss her.

Bobby still has a few white hairs along the site of his scar.

No pics, I'm afraid, but I just had a nice update - Magic is apparently settling in well, has slept on their bed for the last few nights and they are just about to start introductions to their two cats and two dogs. As I said to them, Magic has taken everything else that's happened to her in her stride and adapted well, so I'm sure she'll be fine.

I'm glad of the undisturbed sleep, but I do rather miss the little imp scampering round my bedroom. :)

Got a lovely update for Christmas - Magic has settled in beautifully and apparently is now good pals with their terrier. They sent a lovely pic - she has, almost, grown into her ears! :D

OMG she's a cutie!! We did exactly the same with our latest in using a cage, in October we got a gorgeous 9 week old black kitten called Kevin.

He had a runny tummy too to start with but he soon settled in. He's got about a zillion toys, which is great as he's teaching his older sister to play! (She wasn't socialised as a kitten so is very anxious/skittish and doesn't cuddle or play much)

He's constantly 'growing into' one part of his body or another, one day he's too long, the next his ears have had a growth spurt, it's so cute!

Just caught up on this one - another wonderful success story! And what a little stunner she's grown to be. (I do love black cats!) Well done Helen!
