Hello, I'm Kate from Bath.
I'm servant to two cats at the moment, although I've lived with cats since 1979. Both of my current cats were adopted, and we chose to take those who would be difficult to re-home.
Tinks is a black female around 5 years old. She is semi-feral, and was very nervous when she came to us. Now, 4 years on, we've got her used to being stroked (although only on her own terms) and finally, over the last week, she's started sitting on my husband's lap - so much so that he can't do a thing now as he hasn't the heart to push her off!
Jess is a tabby tornado around 4 years old. She was about 9 months old when she came to us, and had a urinary incontinence problem. When she started passing blood, we took her to the vet, who diagnosed bladder stones, and put her on a special diet. She's now much better and only has the occasional accident. She's very vocal (especially at 4 am!) and very affectionate.
I'm also a pet artist, drawing mainly cats but also dogs and even a rabbit. I draw in pastel pencils from people's photos.
Looking forward to getting to know you all - I can't believe I've only just found this forum!

Welcome Cath
Tinks and Jess are both beautiful
I am servant to six felines - Abbie and Jamie (8 year old sisters), Monty (6), Harry (4), Ava (2) and Little Henry (1). All bar Ava are rescue cats and I just couldn't imagine life with out them.
CC is a fab forum; lots of good advice from people with all sorts of experiences - glad you found us

Hello Kate,
and welcome to CC. Tinks and Jess are beautiful (but you don't need me to tell you that?
)
I'm mummy to Tommy and Bobby and housekeeper to Willow, Purdy and Gracie. I joined to get some info and support when I found out that baby Bob was FIV+. I've made such good friends.
I love your Avatar. I have done watercolours of our dogs but find the cats sooo much harder. I think it might be because all cats are SO different - even litter-mates of the same breed!

Hello and welcome! I have three cats of my own, Grumpy Nellie, Merrick and Daz, a permanent foster, Basil, and various temporary foster cats that come through our household as I started fostering earlier this year - I have a (black and white!) Jess in my spare room and Talouse in my outdoor pen at the moment.
Your cats are gorgeous, and I love your avatar pic. It's beautiful.

My cat's name is Travis. He was a stray, and pre-named. Used to belong, apparently, to a blind man. I think I've half sussed my problem already, but will ask further advice later.
Thank you all for your warm welcomes
I'll see if I can grab a picture to stick on over the weekend. I'm also a carer for my hubby, so life is full
Jen

Hello Kate and Jen, welcome to CC!
I only have 1, a brown tabby called Denver but he's quite a handful on his own! You've come to the right place for any concerns, worries and happier queries too!
Looking forward to hearing more about your beautiful furbabes.
