Online shopping for kittie supplies

Post by Walesgang »

Hi everyone

I have decided to save some effort of going to PAH once a month for the mammoth kittie food and litter shop!!

I don't particularly like the initial effort of Internet shopping though.

Can anyone recommend good sites for choice and value??

On the whole, we use AGAIL wet, Hills dry, Royal Canin fibre response for Mr G and have been using PAH ultra clumping litter. Henry can't tolerate fish, so we have to make sure we have plenty of meat.

Thanks :D

Zooplus for me every time, for choice and value - I've had an order from them every month for at least three years

if there is anything I can't get from them, I usually use VetUK or Viovet

These days I find PAH is only worth shopping from if the things I want are on offer. Their standard prices are high. Even things like JWB are only as good as online prices when they are 30% off.

Since our local sorting office closed, followed by our local PO, I only really order from Zooplus and Viovet as they both offer the option of delivery by DPD. I love that you get an email the day before delivery - even on the day, you get another email giving you a one-hour time slot - you can change the day or delivery address if need be. I'm quite lucky as if t turns out on the day that I am going to be out, the girls in the vets next door let me have stuff delivered there.

I keep meaning to try Zoofast - the food prices are very good, although litter is expensive. They are based in Poland. A few people on the 'Cheap Cat Food Deals' Facebook group have used them, so they are genuine - they are based in Poland. They are the only company I know of where you can order 400g bags of Fibre Response.

Which reminds me - Don't forget that the Morrison's 2 boxes for £5 deal on AGAIl/Doubly Delicious ends in a few days. Well worth a stock up.

PS Val - Have you tried Sanicat professional clumping gold from Zooplus? - I have been using it for the last couple of years and it is the best clumping litter I have tried by far. They do a pack of 3 x 6kg for £12.99 - not sure how that compares with PAH. If you want to trial it, larger Tesco stores sell it in a smaller 5kg box for £5.49.

http://www.zoofast.co.uk/royalcaninfibr ... 16815.html I think it is normally around £18 elsewhere. They also so a 400g bag for £3.84, which is handy if you just like adding a few kibbles a day to regular food, which is often enough.

Another Zooplus fan here... same as Kay I order every month and it's saved me a fortune.

Thanks everyone

Placed an order yesterday. As you say, prices very good.

Mark, I have been using the Sanicat litter in Tips' tray for a few week. I have bitten the bullet and gone for more of that as well.

The next thing for me, living in a rural area and working 4 days a week, is reliable delivery. :)

Zooplus used to only have Yodel as a delivery option which I know quite a few people really had problems with... I'm lucky as my yodel guy is really good. But DPD seems to be very reliable so hopefully your delivery will arrive safely and soon

I chose DPD.

I have had some problems with Yodel in the past.

Hopefully all will be well and this will be the start of a new way :)

I order about every 5 or 6 weeks from Zooplus. DPD have never let me down. :)

Knowing what day and time they are delivering takes the hassle out of it. I love the 'in-flight'' options too - I guess you can change delivery dates to your day off.

PS - Is it the Gold you ordered Val. I know there are a few versions of Sanicat. All pretty god, but I found that the gold clumps best.

That's handy to know. The do have some deals at times and with the occasional voucher they send, it might be worth ordering from them. If I remember rightly, they were the cheapest for Fibre Response.

PS- Not a cat thing, but money saved could buy extra cat food! :D - Kay, as a fellow Lavazza devotee, not sure if you have seen in Sainsbury's (and maybe elsewhere) that the double packs are '50% extra free' - so basically 3 x 250g for £5.70 - Sainsbury's are the cheapest for Lavazza at normal price anyway, so a really good deal. I bought LOTS :D (and will buy even more next week if they still have it) - I could think of it as for every 3-pack, I save enough to buy Kasper another 500g bag of Sainsbury's grain-free salmon dry - his favourite food :)
