Subdued after fight.

Dave had one hell of a scrap this morning with another cat. This cat looked quite a bit smaller than Dave, and Dave was on top of this cat.
Even my feather duster (which Dave is scared of) failed to stop it. It was quite alarming.

Now Dave is in doors but seems very subdued and miserable. I've checked him over as best I can but he seems unscathed at least as far as I can tell.

So, why is he so subdued like this after fighting? Can anyone tell me.

Poor old Dave, they never learn do they? My Gracie has done this a time or two. She is a typical school-yard bully, picking on Purdy or Willow. But if the tables are turned she sulks. A couple of times she has taken a whack that was not visible for a while and went on to become an abcess.

If he isn't any brighter later in the day, get him to the vets for a good look.

I will do that, Bobbys Girl. I am away from home until later this afternoon. Hopefully, he will have recovered a bit by then. At least I hope so. I do worry about him at times.

To echo Sue, a couple of mine have sulked after a scrap for a day or so - once it turned out to be an abcess brewing, and one was just a sulk! I hope Dave bounces back.

Thanks, Crewella. When I got in at six, Dave ran down the stairs to greet me, ate a dish of his favourite Sheba and is now outside rolling in the dust.
