Long time no see!
Ezri & Dax are getting on a lot better and I have some photos of them sleeping on the bed together - however Ezri is still really irritating Dax by jumping on him all the time and he gets annoyed and walks out the room. Ezri loves Dax and gets really excited to see him but the feeling isn't mutual.
Ezri is now 17 weeks old and time has gone by so fast.
Our new predicament is that we will be hopefully moving to a new house and I hope they both adjust to a new place. Hopefully moving from a flat to a house!

Re: Update on Ezri & Dax
Hi there - good to hear from you again and glad they're getting on a bit better.
Hopefully the house move will give Dax the chance of more breathing space - although his pesky little sister is bound to chase after him everywhere!
All the very best with the move, let us know how you go on

Hi Eridax good to see things have settled a tad. Re moving house & settling - people used to say "butter on their paws" - apparently makes them settle. Any seasoned posters heard this? Vivian

I have heard the butter on a cat's paws thing, but believe it to be an old wives' tale. Makes no sense to me, and in a new home I'm sure most people could do without the buttery paw prints!
It's mentioned here, along with some sound advice.

Glad to hear Ezri and Dax seem to be settling down - good luck!

I wonder? Willow loves anything 'dairy'. She would be quite content to lick butter (or cream/custard/yoghurt) off her paws, and as she is doing that, she's not fretting about anything else.
It might be worth squirting some lick-e-lix on TOP of their paws?

Oh I don't doubt that many cats would love their paws to be buttered, it's just I'm not sure it helps them find their way back to a new house after a move any better!!

Re: Update on Ezri & Dax
I think the idea behind the "butter" theory is that the cat would sit in the new home until he'd licked all the butter off, and by that time he'd be relaxed enough to stay.
Maybe it would work to get them "drunk" on catnip. I know after a few glasses of sherry, I'm fairly relaxed and not about to go wandering...
