Constant meowing

Post by ToastySoup »

Please, for the love of god, someone help me. I haven't slept in weeks because my kitty won't stop meowing. Every single night she meows constantly. IT NEVER STOPS.

I kept thinking that this was maybe for attention but even when she wakes me up to pet her and play with her in the middle of the night , she jumps away after a moment of petting and then continues to meow.

This is really getting out of hand and I love her so much but shes driving me insane.

She has plenty of food and water and toys to entertain her but yet she stays up all night and makes this loud , VERY constant meow. Over and over and over and over again.

I would really appreciate it if someone could explain her behavior to me and what I would need to do to fix it. Thanks so much!

Ouch!

Yes, it sounds as if she's 'in call' (and you'll know now why they call it that.)

It's not wise to spay them while they're in full throttle - something to do with the womb etc being engorged with blood, so I'm afraid you will have to wait until she 'goes off the boil' so to speak, and tell your vet that she's been making a RRRRRROW!

Ah, that's the trouble. You just can't tell. It's said of Siamese that they only go off-call for as long as it takes them to draw a deep breath ... and having experience of Siamese I can vouch for it that this is the truth! Many other breeds, crossbreds and 'moggies' can be just as bad, and if she's been calling for a while her hormones may be in overdrive by now and completely out of control.

I think you need to ring your vet and discuss this with them - most vets (and nurses too) will be only too happy to advise and do their best for your girl.

In the meantime I advise earplugs :)
