Am I a robot? / login issue

Post by Lilith »

Sorry, Admin, but every so often I post a reply to a thread, and submit it, and get asked to tick a box saying I'm not a robot.

So I tick it and usually everything goes through fine, but in about a third of these cases, it doesn't believe me, and I end up with my post wiped off. If I try to post again (if I can remember what I've written) it still doesn't believe me ...

It's just happened again.

Grrrr

To paraphrase the rhyme:

Look at the happy robot.
It doesn't give a damn.
I wish I was a robot.
My god, perhaps I am!

Anyone else come up against this glitch? :)

I'm not having the robot thing, but for the last couple of days, despite clicking on 'remember me', I have to log in each time.

I've had the 'I am not a robot' question a couple of times, but I don't think I have ever lost a post to it. All I can say is Thank Admin there isn't a 'capta' thing to go with it.

Like Mark, I've been having to log in several times in the last few days, in spite of ticking the 'Remember me' box. I don't post a lot, but haven't lost any, or had to prove I'm not a robot.

Oh Lilith, you are a ray of sunshine in a dull and dismal day! :D

Just had to login again - less than 3 hours after logging in and setting it to 'Remember me'. Something's not right. :(

If you clear your cookies after each browsing session, you will have to log in again. I recently cleared all mine and have to log in to everything again!

Thanks for the compliment, Vanilla. Here they are - doing their favourite thing - relaxing.

I was fortunate to get them when they had to be rehomed, nearly six years ago.

I'm still puzzled about the login situation. If my PC goes into sleep mode I find I've to login again when I come back to it, which isn't the way it usually works after ticking 'Remember me'.

Lilith, I wonder if you might consider extending the title of this post, mentioning that people are having this problem. Then the Mods might notice and investigate.

Hi Alice, I'm working on it, but not quite sure what to do ... computer illiterate, that's me. I think there's a facility to contact admin direct if the problem's as bad as that though? I've been lucky myself, today - back to normal - paws crossed, but I can sympathise as my ISP keeps logging me out of my email grrr.

Gorgeous cats! Ragdolls? Beautiful! :D

I have to agree your cat is beautiful Alice, although I am a little biased, and seeing it always makes a little melancholy. Its over two years since we lost our Blue, but I still miss him so much, and i swear I am still finding his fur around the house.

This is one of the few pictures I have of him, most were stored on a different computer which died and I couldn't recover the things on the hard drive, it made me realise how important it is to have pictures stored elsewhere as well.

Ruth - I'm like that with Tommy. We both still miss him so much. There is no one now to stop the bickering and bullying that happens from time to time. Gracie now has free reign to pick on who she wants and Bob is not far behind her (though he is more mischievous not spiteful)

I'm on the laptop right now because the kindle has thrown a wobbly and I can't get on to CC site - but that is just the kindle connection.

Re: photo's, every year I back up all my photo's (and other important stuff) on to a seperate hardrive. I have also started making a photo album online with Vistaprint. I go through the year's photo's and put all the best ones in an album. It's a great thing to do just after Christmas and before New Year, when you have a bit of time and you are stuffed full of turkey and unable to move (or is that just me). You can play around with the format and put captions on the pictures before you forget the whys and whens. much cheaper than developing loads of pictures and buying an expensive album that you can only put a few pics in before it falls apart. Slimmer and more attractive on the bookcase too!

And, no I am not a robot - they don't waffle as much. :D

Lilith, if you want to edit/change anything just click on the pencil symbol (left hand one of the four near your avatar) and then you can add/delete as you wish within the title or main text.

Yes, my cats are Ragdolls.

Lilith - I've flagged this to the admin team; hopefully they'll able to shed more light on it.

I do every so often get asked to tick the box but haven't lost a post yet because of it. Also haven't had any issues with logging in.

Thanks guys - thanks Ria for flagging this and lol Bobbys girl I don't think I can be a robot either - I've got to be queen of tmi

Hey Alice, I tried the edit icon but couldn't seem to get anywhere - but computers and me just don't get on ...

Aww Ruth Blue is a handsome chap, I mean, we mourn every cat who we lose, but some just are special. :(

It does look like there are one or a few glitches buried in the system, not the end of the world but - will be very grateful if Admin can sort them :)

Will I be able to post this?

Yeah!

Don't know what happened yesterday, when I tried to log on from my work PC, it was trying to default to the charity log on, yet from my phone I could get on with no issues. Did it again today, so I re-set the password, so this has been posted from the PC, need to check the phone now!
