They are both very true.

I haven't seen it as a magnet, but i know one that should be on one.

'If i wasn't meant to sit on it they wouldn't call it fur-niture'

I used to have a fridge magnet that I could really relate to:

CATS ARE LIKE CHOCOLATES - ONE IS NEVER ENOUGH

Too true - or else single cat brings home a friend or somebody thinks, oh, a cat lives here - room for one more ... purrrrr? And then somebody else thinks, oh, cats live here etc etc and so it goes ...

I have a collection of magnets that say 'Stay calm and love cats/snakes/puffins' and next to that, one with a very sullen looking tortie longhair who's saying 'I won't stay calm and you can *** off!' She also appears in another magnet walking along a wall and saying 'I'm not deaf, I'm just ignoring you' ... Typical.

This is true. :D
We have a magnet that reads 'If you want the best seat in the house, you'll have to move the cat'. In our house it should really read 'If you want A seat ....'

I'm not saying anything about chairs, but yesterday i was sewing some leather pouches and as I use a stitching horse i need to be sat on a firm chair, but then use a stool for working at the table. I need some more thread, so I switched from the chair to the stool to prepare it, and Tiggy teleported in and grabbed the chair and looked smug. Did i move her to finish the piece, no, I precariously balanced on the stool with the stitching horse clamped between my knees to finish the sewing.

Lol - reminds me of the story about someone who called their cats Keith and Prowse, after the booking agency whose slogan was: 'You want the best seats? We have them.'

In this house it's the bed. Mousey's heated pad and igloo occupies the biggest downstairs chair; Molly occupies the bed. How one small ginger cat can expand into mattress size beats me, especially when she used to have to make room for Emily ... Emily, she says, willed the Emily-space to her. Therefore she has stretched. She certainly has. It's like sleeping with Elsa the lioness!

Reminds me of a friend's fridge magnet 'If you want to find the warmest place in the house, look for the cat' - how true!

I used to visit a friend who was in cat rescue, and often had about 20 cats living in the modest 3 bed house. She'd invite me in and say 'Sit down'. I'd look round thinking 'Yes and just where?' Every flat surface was already occupied; it was usually afternoon aka Siesta time; which one was least likely to react badly if I disturbed it ??

Oh lol, yes, I've been bitten and rugby-tackled for daring to sit on someone's favourite chair, or even move when they were on my lap ... At the moment I'm sitting scrunched up on the bed (which doubles as a sofa) while Molly sprawls ... mind you she was (for reasons best known to herself) sleeping on an old curtain in the back bedroom when she's got an igloo, two Lloyd Loom-type chairs (one heavily customised by Emily-claws) next to radiators, a heated pad ... so I can't really begrudge the bed.

Ohh the wall to wall cats. I once heard a story (perfectly serious) of a rescue worker who had a LOT of cats, but, for fear of complaints, they were careful to let them out in relays and if neighbours asked, how many cats have you got? they'd say, umm, well, there's a tabby, and a ginger, a black one, a black and white one, a tabby and white, a black tux ... concealing the fact that there were about 14 each of the same type ...

I don't know whether to thank you lot for the inspiration, or to blame you for being a bad influence, I have now started making fridge magnets.

I don't normally showcase my handmade leather stuff here, but in this case i'm going to.

Thanks, it took a few goes to get the writing right using a pyrograph, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

They are great! I don't think I could do that - I need a trusty eraser to rub out the mistakes. :D They are a lovely idea - a bit different.

I managed to sell two of the 'Cats are like Chocolate' ones the other Sunday at a craft fair, so I will definitely have to expand the range.

They are also great for using up all those left over bits of leather.
