Goldeneye ointment

Post by AnneD »

Does anyone have any experience of using Goldeneye ointment on their cats for sore red/ conjunctivitis eyes? If you have, how long before you saw any change?

Usually a significant improvement in 48hrs if its the right AB for the job. If not then need to switch to Fucithalmic from the vets..

Just googled Goldeneye Ointment and it is Chloramphenicol, which is what many vets use for eye infections. I have bought Chloramphenicol drops, sold as 'Optrex Infected Eyes'

I would always get a vet to check and the Optrex thing is just for emergencies.
