New kitty has black stuff growing in nose for about 5 days now

It feels crusty and looks almost like dried blood. We got a wet q tip and tried to rub it off but nothing came off. (Plus he is a wiggle worm) I wish I knew how to post pictures on this site I have some great ones of this thing.

Also: dude has been sneezing a lot and has swollen tonsils. Lips and gums look great,eating and drinking normally.

I'm a new cat dad and don't know if this is "kitty boogers" or what.

There are so many things it could be - if he is sneezing and has swollen tonsils I would get him to a vet if at all possible.
