Rescued a tiny black kitten about 20 months ago, which has now turned into a gorgeous cat but hunts continually, eats very little cat food, think he was probably feral as can still be a handful.
Not too worried about mice and rats but is catching a lot of birds, 3 so far today, have been observing him this morning from bedroom window, probably explains how he has taken pheasants and wood pigeons, from shed roof takes a massive leap and catches them in flight expect will do same from trees or other high vantage points.
Five kilo of cat hitting you at speed is some impact, usual bells etc don't work with him and he is scared of nothing including neighbours cat hating German Shepard.
Anyone any ideas how to stop him.
Have three other cats that are no problem and only bring in an occasional mouse.
Thank you.

probably only old age creeping up on him is going to curtail his activities, but would something like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fence-Wall-Spi ... s=cat+stop keep him off some of his takeoff places?

Re: Cat hunting birds
My Daz has caught a pheasant befor now too, and several woodpigeons, but thankfully rarely seems to bother with smaller birds - he's a pig and eats his kills and I reckon the smaller varieties don't carry emough meat to make it worth his while!
I know some people have had success with two bells on a collar, might be worth a try? Otherwise, trying to block his take-off platforms is a good idea as has been said. Good luck!
