Worried about kittens lip

Post by Lunascalling »

Hi everyone.

we had our 8 week old kitten come home to us 3 days ago. Earlier than we had planned however the lady we adopted her from (she was not purchased) was very concerned with the way the mother cat had begun to treat her and kept trying to take her outdoors. They believed the risk of keeping her was higher than the risks of us having her come to us early.

I have noticed today that she has what looks like a white spot on her bottom lip and looks a little swollen. It doesn’t seem to be hurting her, she is eating and playing fine and really come out of her shell today after being initially nervous. Currently awaiting a vet appointment for her health check and vaccinations but I was wondering if anyone had experience of something like this with a kitten?

I have no experience of such a thing, but wondered if you could take a photo and email your vet, as I would think it would be fairly easy for him or her to make an initial diagnosis just from an image
