kitten kidneys failure

Post by momomomo »

Can cat kidneys heal themselves? My 2.5 months kitten, after blood test, was diagnosted with renal failure with all symptoms (lethargy, loss of appetite ..) but next day and without any treatment, all his symptoms diseappeared as if nothing happened. What do you think ?

I would want to investigate further. Could the symptoms have been caused by something comparatively easily reversed, like dehydration? I would want further blood tests to confirm just how well his kidneys are functioning, and whether treatment is needed.

I would certainly be wanting more investigation, kidney issues are rare in such a young kitten and you need to make sure there won't be long lasting damage
