Hi,
Does anyone have more that one Feliway (excuse the spelling) plugged in to their homes. We have one for Rummy in the back bedroom where she likes to spend most of her time and it has made her more confident, but just lately she is venturing into other rooms but doesn't seem to confident to stay for too long, just wondering whether to invest in a couple of more to plug into other rooms to see if that helps.
Any replies greatly appreciated.

You can plug in more if you want to, there is a guidance n the packaging I think for how much area it should cover though.
She might just be less confident in other rooms because they are newer to her and she hasn't had as much time to establish that they are 'hers' too. She also needs to feel confident that she can make it back to safety in time if another danger should appear out of nowhere between her and her route back to safety.
Above all encourage her explorations, and don't feel anxious about her taking things at her own pace - she will pick up your anxiety and that will make her think there is something to worry about. Gentle but positive tone of voice and lots of praise.

Re: Feliway
Thank you Mollycat, When Rummy comes into new rooms the doors are always open so that she can escape quickly if she wants to. We give Rummy treats when she enters new rooms and lots of encouragement, last night she stayed with me in the computer room whilst I was on the computer, she stayed for about half an hour which was a real step forward for her so I think we are getting there slowly but surely with her

Sounds great, by all mans add more diffusers if you feel it would help but she seems to be getting comfortable at her own pace very nicely. Lovely to hear of her progress.
Cats often retain particular zones in their home, and territories in a multi cat home. Areas where they are most relaxed and places that just feel a little less secure to them, or where they feel another member of the household is stronger than they are. Although we lost our Boo 15 months ago, Molly is still in the long process of gradually taking over what she always saw as his territory, even in a small one bedroom flat. When Boo was still here I could draw you a 3 dimensional map of my flat with their territories and neutral areas clearly shown. Never a cross word, just that some places Boo was less relaxed and others Molly felt uncomfortable. It's just a cat thing
