twenty for 2020 campaign

To mark Cat Chat's 20th Anniversary, our 'Twenty for 2020' campaign aimed to find homes for the 20 most overlooked cats in the country.

In fact, our campaign helped find homes for many more than 20 overlooked cats over the year. Helped by the shares, tweets and posts by our wonderful supporters nationwide, 2020 turned into a terrific year for hundreds of long-stay cats who moved out of rescue care and into loving permanent new homes.

We are delighted to report that all of these very special campaign cats featured below are now living happily with their new owners and enjoying life to the full. What a super way to celebrate Cat Chat's 20th year!

Over 2 years in rescue

!! HOMED !!
These 3 girls were in the care of Cat Neutering Stratford upon Avon for over two years.

3 feral cats need home stratford upon avonBut thanks to your help, they have found the perfect, permanent home. Although pretty, the girls are only affectionate to each other, and really didn't want to be picked up for a cuddle. They're ferals. Otherwise known as low maintenance, independent, 24-hour pest controllers!

Their new people read about the girls on Cat Chat's Twenty for 2020 campaign and knew that they needed to stay together, and so adopted all three, which is a fantastic result. They have all the outdoor space they need, and with a caring owner to make sure their needs are met. After an initial period of getting used to their new surroundings, their new owner gave us this update: "They are all now roaming free on the farm catching my rats and having a great time. I don’t see them very often but they are eating and leaving their presents for me on the floor!"

Thank you to KatieOllis.co.uk for photographing the Girls!

As part of Cat Chat's twentieth anniversary celebrations, all cats adopted from our campaign were homed with a parcel of goodies including HiLife Cat Food, personalised cat collars from Kitty Collars and Feliway to help them adjust to their new life. All cats featured in the campaign were vet checked, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption.

Our Twenty for 2020 campaign ran throughout the year (and into early 2021) and helped many cats like the 3 Girls to find a new, loving and permanent home.

suzi perry“Everyone - or at least around half of us - loves a cute and cuddly little kitten. But not so many of us have the same soft spot for more mature or unwanted cats, whether strays or from unsuitable homes.

We, the Anderson family, have reared 25 feral cats and kittens over the years. Some went to good homes with friends and family. Some became our life-long companions and part of family history. Some are still with us today

If you can commit to providing a long-term home for a shelter cat, please visit the Cat Chat website. Remember - a pussy-cat friend for a day is a friend for life.”
