Let’s tell Police and Crime Commissioner Candidates how much we care about badgers and nature
And let’s get wildlife criminals the punishments they deserve.
Wildlife Artivist Martin Aveling takes a satirical view of DEFRA's approach to Bovine TB
By the end of 2024, half of the badger population in Britain will have been killed through culling, a measure introduced by the UK government 11 years ago in an unscientific attempt to curb bovine tuberculosis (bTB) in cattle.
94% of bTB infections in cattle occur from cow to cow.

Badger setts across England sit empty for the first time in history.
Culling spells disaster for badgers, a native protected species. And fears grow as government kill figures revealed the badger cull has claimed up to half of Britain's estimated population.
Badger Trust’s wish for badgers is simple – to see badgers thrive in the place they have called home for 250,000 years.
Our campaign film highlights what England's national wildlife heritage could lose if the cull continues. For badgers to thrive, the controversial and unscientific badger cull must end now.
Any gift you can make will help us support badgers.
We expect to witness over 250,000 badger deaths by the end of 2024. These numbers look huge – and they are huge. We cannot let this happen. We need your help.
Badgers are near extinction in certain parts of intensive cull zones, especially in the South West.
Just imagine a precious mammal that has thrived for 250,000 years in this land, wiped out entirely from parts of the country.

Badgers follow ancestral pathways to feed and socialise. The rapid rise of property and road development across England and Wales means that new roads and ancient paths can meet, leading to significant risks for badgers.
Slow down. Ensure you're driving within the speed limit and be alert to wildlife, especially on countryside roads around dawn and dusk.
Report. If the worst happens, please report a dead badger at the roadside to us. If it's safe, please check on the badger to confirm it’s dead. If the badger is alive, urgently contact your local badger group*, wildlife rescue or vet. *Use our Badger Groups Map or google your county/town and 'badger group'.
Save lives. Share these tips with the drivers in your clan to raise awareness and keep people and wildlife safe on our roads.
