Hello! My name is McCarthy and I am a very handsome 7 year old fluffy black and white boy. I am a very special boy to the staff here as you see I was originally brought here in 2017 as I had living as a stray for 3 years. I didn’t cope well with being penned up then and kept lashing out in frustration, so the staff decided to let me out to live here at The Centre. I was a lot happier then and my behaviour got better, although I would still bite or swipe randomly at times. I decided that I liked living in the staff room most as that was where I could sit on a comfy lap and get myself some love and fusses. As my behaviour was a lot better (although I still liked to show my cheeky, naughty side occasionally) and I seemed to really crave attention the staff decided that I deserved to find myself a home as they felt I would be happier then even more. So I did find myself a home in February this year and I was a good boy and a delight most of the time, but my temperamental side liked to show itself unexpectedly and I did bite and scratch occasionally. Sadly, my owner couldn’t cope with that and back I came. I am such a loving, cuddly boy generally and I love nothing more than sitting on a lap, so I can’t wait to find a new home where I can do that again. But I need a tough new owner who can take some bites and scratches and still love me and not quit on me. Over the years, the staff have realised that I don’t seem to like men so much and so I would be much better suited to a female only household. I cannot live with children of any age due to my naughtiness and I need to be the only pet in the household too. I hope it’s not too long before someone gives me another chance at a forever home. The staff would really love to see me happy in a home finally with my own family.
