Henry
Many of the cats being listed just now (August/ September) came from the one bad situation where neglect and hunger was all they had come to expect from life. Despite it all, they are nice-natured cats but most are still fighting the shyness that comes with never having had any reason to think of most humans as being particularly kind. Henry would only be about three months old when I brought him here on the same day as Monty (listed separately), back in late April so can only be nine months or so old. Like all the others, his now gleaming white coat was orange in colour back then, a sure sign of malnutrition, and all of them were just so dirty. When survival is the goal, there's no energy left over to think about aesthetics. I'm very happy to report that Henry, like all of his extended family, has taken great pride in bringing his beautiful coat into shiny splendour and he's particularly keen to show off his single black toe. Not everyone has one you know. Although he's still shy, that's more to do with the fact that I've got so little time to just spend with Henry and the others, although I do seem to be their favourite human in the whole world when I appear carrying several dishes of breakfast/lunch /dinner. Henry and the rest of these cats are just so damn NICE! Sometimes it's just there, in them, waiting to find a way, the courage, to put their trust in humans and show their true selves. In a perfect world these cats would be homed in pairs because they do love each other, cuddling up together at nap times and never seeing any reason for rivalry over food etc. Henry's neutered now, of course, and he's been fully vaccinated and microchipped. Once well settled he would love the chance to get out and about for a bit of an explore. He's a gentle boy so should be fine with older children so long as they understand that he's not going to be a knee hugger any time soon and that he, like the others, will need time and patience to see them through the shy and the confusion of being separated from the others. We wouldn't rule out an outdoor home.or homes, for these cats but only if the set-up is absolutely right  and the care is there.
