Barney
Cat’s Guidance Rescue are proud to introduce the beautiful Barney who is looking for his forever home.
Foster mum’s pet name for him is Barney Rubble, isn’t he a lovely boy?

Barney is a cat who is around 1 to 2 years of age who should have never come in to rescue, he was well looked after however was surrendered due to him having scratched a child!
As we all know cats can lash out at times especially if under stress or they are frightened. Since coming into rescue, Barney have turned out to be a sweet cat who loves to play with foster mum’s cats and his fellow fosters, plays lovely with Cameron as they are both young cats.

He loves head bumps and cuddles and is a vocal cat who likes meowing and having a conversation with you.

Initially, Barney would swipe at foster mum’s legs when walking up the stairs but after a few weeks settling in he has not done this and has been settled and relaxed. He was most likely feeling stressed when he came into rescue and needed time to know he was safe and loved.

Barney has a delightful cheeky character loves to pinch the dog chews out of a basket on the kitchen work top and helps himself as well as meowing at the hooman neighbours next door blagging some treat sticks out of them.

The way to Barney’s heart is chicken time, he adores it. He is all up to date with his vaccinations, neutered etc, booster is due in October 2023.

He will need a confident cat owner who understands cat behaviour as he will need time to adjust again when rehomed. He is litter trained and enjoys safe outdoor space so will need this as a requirement and a home with no young children.
