Gwen was a nervous and very young cat, living stray in some gardens and being fed by kind people. They discovered that she had given birth to three kittens in their garden and quickly took them inside for safety and called us to help. Very sadly, one of the kittens had already died.

After getting vets checks, we placed Gwen and her kittens Chicklet (tortie & white female) and Salamander (black & white male) into one of our foster homes where she could nurse her kittens in a safe and peaceful home.

Gwen is very gentle but is still a nervous girl who appreciates having places where she can hide away as she gets used to a new environment. She is an amazing mum who is so young that now the kittens are getting bigger, she is starting to play with them and appreciate their companionship.

Gwen will need to have time and gentle kindness to allow her to slowly come out of her shell and engage with people. She would be better suited to a calm home with adults only or older calm children. Although she is coming out of her shell she may initially hide away for long periods and so a den and hiding places are a great way to help her to feel secure. She loves eating and hanging out on the rug and playing. Gwen is keen to get outside so would be suited to a home with access to a safe back garden.

Salamander is a brave and curious little chap who is into exploring everything and making sure he doesn't miss out on anything. He loves playing with his mum and sister and can also entertain himself with his toys.

Chicklet loves playing with Salamander and is also still her mum’s little shadow. Mama Gwen still licks her kittens and will give them loads of love whilst encouraging Chicklet especially to be a bit more independent.

The three cats all have a wonderful bond, you will often find them sleeping together so we are trying to find a home with a safe garden that will be happy to take them as a little family.
