Misty
Misty was handed into a vet having been found stray and Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. When Misty arrived, due to her stray background, she wasn't socially confident and struggled to interact. Misty has come a long way since and with the daily visits from our volunteer cat cuddlers, she now LOVES to park her bottom on a lap for a good stroke, and has learnt that humans are actually rather nice indeed!

The countdown to Christmas is on and for Misty, no present would be sweeter than a warm home and a sofa to call her own. She has been with us at the rescue since May 2023 and sadly is always overlooked in favour of younger cats or "prettier" colours - but Misty is a GORGEOUS girl and it really is her time now to be picked.

At approximately 3 or 4 years old, she loves to sit and watch the world go by and is very independent, but don’t let that fool you! This regal girl absolutely adores affection and will be a lap cat for hours on end. Whilst she truly craves human interaction, Misty is still understanding that strokes and cuddles are safe and so can be wary if caught off-guard. She is full of character and on occasion, if she is not ready to be touched quite yet, she’ll let you know. Coming from the hard life of a stray, it’s understandable that she sometimes needs her space. Just like humans – she has her boundaries!

Misty is no stranger to her beautiful looks and will proudly peacock around until treats come her way – whether it’s a familiar face or someone new, she won’t shy away! Her abundance of personality shines through when she’s in a playful mood and she needs a family who are patient and accepting of her sassy cat-like quirks that have often had the volunteers chuckling. As much as this girl loves a treat, she will still paw at the window if she sees you coming purely to receive some strokes.

With her sudden bursts of energy, Misty is desperate for some space to run around and play to let off some steam but is equally as desperate for a lap to claim as her own – and once she’s there, no doubt you’ll feel the loving rumble of a purr. She really is the best of both worlds!

The Rescue Remedies Team added “Misty would be an excellent addition to a single cat household whereby she can ‘lap up’ all of the attention and positively flourish”. With a little patience and a lot of love, you’ll wonder why you didn’t adopt her sooner!

Misty is neutered, chipped, and vaccinated and in our Gatwick Cattery whilst awaiting her new family.
