Kiki
Kiki is a 4 year old black and white female, and she came into us in quite a bad way. She was very underweight, had pulled out a lot of her fur due to stress and had some tummy problems. Her tummy isues were all sorted with a course of antibiotics and bland food, she has gained a good amount of weight and her coat is looking beautiful, healthy and soft again as you can see from her photos.
However, our vets picked up on a heart murmur at one of Kiki's check-ups and after some blood tests and an echocardiogram, Kiki was diagnosed with HCM.
This has likely been brought on by the amount of stress she's endured. HCM (feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) is a heart condition which causes the walls of the heart to thicken. Cats can still live very happy lives with the condition, and we are pleased to report that Kiki doesn't currently need to be on any medication. Kiki will need a check-up at the vets every 6 months and an 'echo' is recommended every year to keep an eye on her heart, which we can discuss further with Kiki's new owner. We would recommend that anyone who may be willing to give this lovely girl a home read up on the condition prior to contacting us. Kiki is such a wonderful, loving and affectionate girl. She loves treat time as well as having lots of fuss, and she adores her cat nip banana and playing with her toys. She has a good appetite and Whiskas wet food is her favourite along with Purina biscuits. To keep her stress levels low, Kiki requires an indoor home, or a home with a Catio, as an only pet. She cannot live with young children. If you have space in your heart and home to provide Kiki with the love she is looking for, please get in touch with us by filling in your details through our enquiry form.
