Hello, I’m Amber and I’m currently searching for my new forever home. I’m a friendly and affectionate older girl and I sadly find myself in need of a new home as my owners are moving away and can’t take me with them.

My personality:
Initially I can be quite shy; I can be worried by sudden loud noises and may spend a little while hiding away in my new home until I’m feeling a bit more settled and confident. My new owners will need to be patient with me as I gradually come out of my shell. Once settled, I enjoy having plenty of fusses and am a lap cat.

Children:
In my previous home, I haven’t been used to meeting lots of children. Therefore, I would be best suited to a home with adults only or sensible children 12+.

Other animals:
I have lived as the only pet in the home, and I am quite content with that. I’ve met other cats in my garden but can be territorial when they come into my space, I’m also scared of dogs. I would like to be the only pet in my new home please.

Additional needs:
I enjoy having access to a garden and happily come and go through my cat flap. I only really spend about half an hour outside in the colder months, but I really enjoy the sunshine in the summer and can be out for several hours! When I was younger, I used to hunt and wander out of my garden, but I much prefer a quiet life now and tend to only stay in my garden, soaking up the sun. I would like a nice garden away from busy roads, ideally with no visiting neighbouring cats, so that I can enjoy the sunny spots all to myself.

I do have early-stage kidney disease; this is an age-related change and is an ongoing condition that will need to be monitored and managed in my new home. I have regular vet checks, and a supplement added to my food to help my kidney function.

As you can also see, I’ve got lovely long fur, so I need a little bit of help to keep it in purrfect condition, to prevent me from getting any knots or mats. I don’t have many teeth left you see, so it’s a bit harder these days to comb through it all, fortunately I quite enjoy having a pamper and grooming session.
