Martha is your chocolate box looking cat. She was left behind by her owner when they left without paying their rent.  Martha was discovered by the landlord locked in the bathroom with a puppy!! He is not sure how long she had been there.  The landlord took her home but unfortunately she did not get on with the resident cat so she came to us.  Since being with us and having to endure lots of cats around her she has been ok with them.  What we have noticed that if she approached from the front and you go to stroke her she recoils so we imagine she has been hit about the head. if approached from the side she is fine. We really do not know what she had to put up with.  She is a friendly cat but just wary at first which is quite understandable so she will need someone with patience and she will respond to kindness very quickly.
