YCR DURING CORONAVIRUS During the current lockdown period, YCR has made the decision to close our centre for adoptions. All the cats will be cared for in either foster homes or by on-site staff/volunteers at the centre. If you would like to express an interest in a cat you see on the website, please email with your name, address, contact details and the reference number of the cat in question. We will speak to you about the cat and where possible will reserve the cat and then undertake a remote adoption when the cat is ready.

Hi there, I'm the beautiful Meg! I came to Yorkshire Cat Rescue very scared and very pregnant. Sadly, they don't know much about my past, and I cant tell them obviously, but I wish I could! As I was so scared, I hissed and growled even though I knew that I was being helped - I was just protecting my unborn babies. I am now safe and living in a foster home and my beautiful babies have now gone off on their own little adventures! My foster mummy is working at home in my room so I'm getting used to people and I'm slowly realizing they are not so bad after all. I have stopped hissing and swearing at my foster mummy, and I even let her give me strokes now but I will sometimes still give her a gentle bat with my paw. I am still very shy with other people, so I will probably go backwards a little when I go to my new home. I think I would like a quiet home with patient mummies and/ or daddies and no small people or other furries but I must go live with someone who has had lotsss of kitties before so that you know how us kitties can be. I'm trying really hard to like the hoomans, especially as they give me lots of lovely food and I'm sure I will like strokes even more by the time I leave my fabulous foster mummy. Have you got a Meg space free for me?! x x x
