Rehoming Cats & Kittens: Essex
Olaf & Mumma
Mumma was part of a feral colony and was trapped along with her son and daughter of about 6 months or so. The girl has gone into foster to be socialised as she has potential to be rehomed as a domestic cat. The little boy was terrified so was left with his mum. Unfortunately he died a few weeks ago. Mumma has not been right since she has been with us but nothing we can substantiate. She has been seen by the vets but no cause found. We think she may just be an older lady struggling after living a hard life outdoors. She does however seem a little happier since being introduced to Olaf and being in a heated room. Although feral she is not viscous and spends her time curled up next to the radiator.
Olaf has previously had an owner and when he was abandoned made himself known to a lady whose cat flap he used to wander through. He got quite comfortable and would sit in a chair in the house. With us he is hand aggressive and we are quite sure he has been the subject of some sort of abuse in the past. He presents as a feral and will need to be settled and less stressed before there is any improvement. He is also still quite snotty.
We would like them both to go together to someone experienced with feral or semi feral cats. They are unlikely to be particularly grateful to you for a while but need somewhere warm with land they can eventually explore. We are looking for a semi feral home and someone with time, patience and unlimited amount of love to give these two misfits. There is every chance these two will settle down to live happily in a home so the option must be available to them if they wish to at any point.
If you, or anyone you know can help, please let us know. Thank you.
