Kelly has a heart breaking story behind her for such a young cat. She came into Leeds Cat Rescue at the request of West Yorkshire Police after being abandoned for several days by her owners. She was heavily pregnant so the police removed her and we picked her up from the police station.
Soon after she came into care she became very poorly and was diagnosed with panleukopenia, often called cat parvo and has a mortality rate of about 95%. 24hrs after diagnosis she went into labour and after 22hrs had delivered 7 tiny, premature kittens which even with all the treatment available died. Kelly herself underwent intensive care and amazingly we managed to pull her through and today, 3 weeks later is thriving.
Kelly is a real big kitten, full of fun, very playful and affectionate and now just need the perfect home who will dote on her and adore her. She does not tolerate other cats so does need to be an only cat. She is dog friendly and would be happy in a family with older kids.
A very lucky and special little cat that needs a special home after a very traumatic time for such a youngster to go through.
