Winnie & Aurora

We are looking for a very special home - within 20 miles of Aylesbury, Bucks -  for a very special young lady named Winnie a black cat and her 6mth old tabby daughter Aurora.  Winnie is 5 years old and was semi feral when she was brought to us ill and heavily pregnant. Sadly the vet has diagnosed her to be in kidney failure, although since she's been on medications and a special kidney diet her bloods have improved slightly which we're all happy about. She also has cerebellar hypoplasia or wobbly cat syndrome as it’s often called, it’s an unusual neurological disorder as a result of interrupted development of the brain, leading to uncoordinated movement or ataxia. The virus affects the brain during development, resulting in a lack of coordination, from being infected with feline parvovirus. Once the brain has been damaged, it cannot be repaired. But she copes so well with it.

Her daughter Aurora is a very fit and active kitten with no health issues.  They are both spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.

Winnie and Aurora would love a home together.  They get on well with other cats and dogs but are unsuitable for a home with children.  Due to Winnie's health problems ideally they should be indoor only, but a home with a very secure garden might be okay.  While they need to be homed together, we may consider Winnie being homed as a long-term foster with Aurora being fully adopted (in the same home).

If you think you could offer a loving home to Winnie and Aurora please send a message to Aylesbury Cat Rescue, either via our social media pages or email [email protected]
