Alice - RESERVED
On occasion we at Catcuddles are asked to rehome pedigree cats. As with any cat it is important to match them to a suitable forever home. We have chosen not to include photos or videos as we want initial interest to be from those able to offer a home that meets the needs of the cat.

Affectionately known as Mouse, Alice is a shy, petite, senior female with beautiful medium length fur and a tortie colouring. 14 year old Alice is looking for a relaxed forever home with an adopter who will give her the space she needs to get to know them and enjoy her company as she begins to bond with you. Whilst timid with strangers, she is an incredibly loving companion. Alice loves a head-scratch and the occasional belly rub. She will headbutt you when she is in the mood for cuddles on the sofa or in bed.

Alice can be overpowered by other pets so we are looking for her to join a pet-free home. Alice has never lived with children so would be best suited to an adult-only home or possibly one with older children. As a homebody Alice will enjoy an indoor home perhaps with a quiet balcony so she can snooze in the sunshine.

A recent blood test indicated Alice may be showing signs of early kidney disease. Alice will be seeing our Vet soon to complete her senior health check. Kidney disease is a common ailment, affecting many older cats. Early detection allows for steps to be taken to alter a cat’s diet through food easily purchased online or from a pet store and Alice’s health needs can be discussed further with the adoptions team.

Anyone adopting an indoor cat from us needs to be committed to creating a stimulating and enriching indoor environment and ensuring it is safe, i.e. cat proofing any windows that will be opened, and fully cat proofing a balcony, terrace or garden if there is one. When catproofing this means ensuring it is fully enclosed, not permitting access is not usually sufficient. If their family are using the balcony, the cat should also be able to and whilst a cat will not jump if there is nowhere to go, accidents can and do happen so this is essential to do to ensure the safety of your adopted cat. The adoptions team can offer further advice on this.

Alice is being fostered in Plumstead, SE18.

Before submitting an adoption enquiry it is important to ensure that you have read our adoption info page: Adopting a cat from Catcuddles. Please carefully consider if you are able to offer what Alice needs before getting in touch and if you are not in a position to adopt for some weeks or months we request you wait until you are ready to register your interest to adopt.

No matter what their age, all adopted cats leave Catcuddles with trial insurance and this is important to take out. For our senior cats the trial insurance is with Agria and if a policy is purchased within the trial period then you’ll be able to take out a policy for lifetime cover. Any adopter would need to be financially comfortable to cover the cost of any pre-existing exclusions and be mindful of the higher cost of insurance for a pedigree cat.

Our priority is to match felines with homes that suit their needs, character and long term requirements. Please be aware that when particular cats receive an unusually high volume of enquiries, our dedicated adoptions volunteers may only be able to pursue the most promising. We appreciate your understanding.
