Tom & Jerry
Elegant, silky soft and sleek - Tom and Jerry are a bonded pair of grey and white brothers aged
just under six months. They came into our care because the family dog took a dislike to them. Their
bond is extremely close, to the point where one becomes quite distressed if the other isn't around.
Their relationship is incredible and heart-warming to observe. They wash each other, play, and
cuddle up together to sleep. It is possible these two were weaned too early or even hand reared, as
they engage in suckling behaviour with each other but may well outgrow that as they get older.
Despite their close bond, Tom and Jerry are friendly, vocal and sociable with humans. They will
take a little while to adjust to a new home and will initially be distant and shy, but once you have
their trust, they are super affectionate boys. They like to always be near to their trusted human.
When he is in the mood, Tom loves to snuggle across your arm and chest when you are sitting. He
climbs onto his fosterer's shoulder when he wants a snuggle and nestles his head into her neck.
Jerry is less of a lap cat currently, but he does like to sleep close to a human. He loves to roll over
to request a gentle belly rub. Tom, however, sees belly rubs as an invitation to play rough! Jerry
also ensures his human is up and awake early to provide breakfast. He does this with little chirps
and paw-tapping.
Tom has had eye surgery for 'cherry eye' (a prolapsed eye gland) whilst in our care. The surgery
was a success and his eye has healed well. Tom and Jerry would be best suited to a home with no
other pets, and children over 10 years old.
