Rehoming Cats & Kittens: Warwickshire & Leicestershire
Tom
Tom (and his brother, Jerry) came into care from a home where sadly (and as is often the case) the lady had left her un-neutered cats to breed - when she found she couldn't sell all of the kittens she no longer wanted them.  They were about 6 months old and underfed when they arrived, having had to scramble and fight for the food that was put down. Both boys gobble their wet food as a result.

They have both put on weight, and are now nuetered.  Jerry has been homed but Tom is still looking for a home of his own (9 months old as of Novemebr 2023).

Tom needs a very special person who will take time to perservere with him and learn to  'read' him and act accordingly.

He was very nervous when her first came in to care, but is now incredibly affectionate, has a very loud purr, pushes for fuss - then, for no apparent reason, will bite.  If you've ever had a little cat like this, you learn to give short amounts of fuss and to look for tell tale signs of when to stop and move your hand away quickly!   The biting has reduced a little while he's been in foster care, but anyone taking him on needs to expect that it will happen - we never try to home a cat without people knowing everything about them.   Hopefully, with time and patience it will reduce to nothing, although we wouldn't home him with children.

He is very intelligent, very lively, and loves to play, and ideally, needs a home where he will eventually be able to go outside and run off some off his abundant energy.

Tom and Jerry did fight, (although could also be very affectionate with each other), so we're not sure how he would be with other cats.
