BEST TUNES ON OLD FIDDLES
I guess I could be forgiven for thinking that, as in the famous film title, there might indeed be ‘no country for old men.’ Let me, therefore, introduce myself.
My name is Sky, but I don’t pretend to be up there in the clouds. I’m simply an elderly, polite, down-to- earth, 14-year-old, Russian male cat. In other words a good, old-fashioned gentleman.
Problem is that I’m in care and have problems securing a permanent home for my autumn years.
That said, I’m being well looked after by my lovely fosterer and am very grateful to her and Cats Protection. They will tell you that I’m quite a sensitive soul and at my age will find it hard adjusting to change. I’m quite happy just hanging out with my foster carer, snoozing on the desk while she works from home; and giving a gentle nudge when I’m after a fuss stretched out on the bed.
I do, though, need the full-time security of a forever family home. I’m hoping for a nice, quiet life with no other felines, but lots of caring cuddles and a nice garden where I can sunbathe and enjoy the bird song. I do have something of a sensitive tummy which means I’m on a strict, special diet and will always be on medication and require regular monitoring.
Most importantly, my prime wish is to have my own, permanent, people to be with. Hopefully, there is someone out there with a comfy place and lots of good care for a very grateful old man.
In return, I promise to bring love, laughter and happy, thankful music to your ears. As that old saying goes, the very best tunes are played on the oldest fiddles!
