Three beautiful young male cats. When these cats came into our care they were in very poor condition, severely underwight and malnourished they had been abandoned after their owner was evicted and left them behind. The flat that was their home was fithy and flea infested, upon arrival the cats fur was yellow. We took in four cats - three kittens who were presumably siblings and an older male cat (Colin) who might be their dad. The cats mother had already been taken away by another charity and we could not trace her. The three kittens were very poorly when they arrived and the female kitten was especially sick.
Concerned about the cats health our vets ran tests including virus tests which fortunately proved to be negative for feline FIV and FELV but the cats do have high feline corona virus titres (FCoV). Colin, Bowie and Asher once over their initial malnutrition have blossomed to become the stunningly handsome cats you can see in these photos. Their sister Rita has got neurological issues and needs a special home. Hopefully Colin, Bowie and Asher will just be carriers of corona virus and their titres will hopefully decrease over a matter months. FCoV is a virus which is very common in cats although many cats owners have not heard about it, we can discuss the virus fully with anyone who is potentially interested in offering these cats a new home. https://www.cats.org.uk/uploads/documents/CP_FCoV_and_FIP_procedures_0514.pdf https://icatcare.org/advice/cat-health/feline-infectious-peritonitis-fip
Colin, Bowie and Asher will require a home together but without any other cats because of their FCoV titres. Also Bowie is deaf so we are seeking a spacious indoor only home or a home with a cat proofed gaden.
To enquire about Colin, Bowie and Asher please send an email to [email protected] or if you are unable to send a email please leave us a clear voicemail message including your contact phone no on 020 8694 6545 your message will be passed to our homing team. or come and visit us and our cats at our regular Cat Adoption Open Days every Saturday and Sunday between 1p.m and 5p.m Please bring a donation of some cat food!!
Please note: We do carry out a pre-adoption home visit. This is an informal visit that takes place in your home. We provide any advice you may need about caring for and settling in new cats or kittens – incl health care, feeding, holiday arrangements, dangers in your home etc. We also look at the location of your home to assess for hazards such as easy access to busy roads or for indoor-only homes to advise on making windows or balconies safe. Our cats have varied temperaments and needs so we also discuss what ‘sort’ of cats would be suitable for you, your family, your lifestyle and your home. Once a successful home visit has been carried out you will be invited back by appointment to meet suitable cats either at our Rescue centre or at our local foster homes and choose your new feline companion(s). If you are interested in offering a home to one or more of our cats you are welcome to visit one of our Adoption Open Days prior to having a home visit but unless you have had a successful home visit you cannot choose or reserve cats at one of our Adoption Days.
