Kitt
13 year old Kitt is a chatty, nosy neighbour. She’s an impish mini panther with a cute little stubby tail, who must know what you’re getting up to at all times and has a phenomenal sense of smell. Kitt can detect a closed tub of Cosma Snackies at great distance and will helpfully show you where it’s ended up even if she has to ‘rearrange’ your paperwork to do so!

Don’t let her sometimes stern gaze fool you, Kitt is an absolute sweetheart and has a wonderful, quirky personality. Until she’s ready for a nap she will bound about always purring very loudly, following you around to supervise what you’re doing. She will announce herself to the room if she’s not seen you in the past few minutes by meowing and she’ll look at you disapprovingly if she’s hungry. She judges your five minute coffee breaks like no one else can but will then come and settle next to you while you work. If you hear Kitt howling she isn’t in distress at all, she’s just overjoyed playing with her favourite spring! She also loves snuggling in bed.

Kitt reserves her love for humans and her hisses for other cats; if there was plenty of space she could live with another chilled submissive cat who is used to living with an alpha cat but she’d have no issue being a solo cat. Kitt would prefer an adult-only home.

Kitt does enjoy company so would like it if her adopter was home a fair amount of time, the lesser spotted Kitt does nap on occasion!

Kitt has intermittent skin problems, which may be as a result of her dislike of change - she’s going to need a settled home where there are no significant changes or house moves planned - or could be almost a comfort; a learned behaviour and it’s habit. She is reasonably tolerant of having her nails trimmed and we’re working with her Vet to try and understand how to best support her and one of the things we’ve done alongside some temporary medication is switch her to a diet of KatKin, which she happily munches away on. It’s just another reason to love her even more, this sensitive side of her is just who she is. This is something you can discuss further with the adoptions team.

Kitt is looking for a light, spacious home she can explore every inch off and if possible partake in watching the local wildlife from a perch of her choice (she is a fan of cat towers!). If there’s a catproofed balcony she would love this but if you don’t have a balcony then please do enquire if you think you can otherwise meet her needs including giving her a new name, she likes to be unique and doesn’t like it taken ages to find her record at the Vet!

Anyone adopting an indoor cat from us needs to be committed to creating a stimulating and enriching indoor environment and ensuring it is safe, i.e. cat proofing any windows that will be opened, and fully cat proofing a balcony or terrace if there is one. When catproofing a balcony this means ensuring it is fully enclosed, not permitting access is not usually sufficient. If their family are using the balcony, the cat should also be able to and whilst a cat will not jump if there is nowhere to go, accidents can and do happen so this is essential to do to ensure the safety of your adopted cat. The adoptions team can offer further advice on this.

Kitt is being fostered within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Before submitting an adoption enquiry it is important to ensure that you have read our adoption info page: Adopting a cat from Catcuddles.
