Minnaloushe
9 year old Minnaloushe is an absolutely adorable black cat with white hairs on her chin. After the death of her owner she went to live with relatives, however after six happy years there, ill health in her family has resulted in her arrival at Catcuddles. This special, incredibly sweet girl who will make the most loving of companions to her forever human(s).

Minnaloushe is best suited to be the only pet in the home. She does not have any experience of living with children and would prefer to continue to live in an adult only home or one with gentle older children/teenagers only where she’ll have lots of fuss, companionship and playtime. She may be 9 but she really does enjoy playtime with wand toys and pouncing from her tunnel!

Minnaloushe suffers from flea allergy dermatitis and seasonal millary dermatitis (allergies). It is very therefore important to give her effective spot on flea treatment (prescribed by the Vet). At present she is given Bravecto, which is applied every three months. For now, other than a good diet of high protein food and probiotics, she does not currently need any further medication but it does mean that any treatment for skin conditions would not be covered by insurance and her preventative care and dietary needs budgeted for accordingly. This can be discussed further with the adoptions team.

Minnaloushe will need a necessary dental once she is settled in her forever home and we will work with her adopter to organise this at The Catcuddles Cat Clinic. This can also be discussed further with the adoptions team.

In recent years Minnaloushe has preferred spending her time indoors, and this will also help her allergies. A home with a balcony could be a nice option for her but it’s more important for her to have the right indoor home, with enough space for her favourite bed, and a tunnel or ripple mat so she can tear around when she’s playing, and ideally with someone who is ordinarily home a lot. Whilst she will happily snooze, she does also enjoy company so this would be the best option for her so she can chirrup to you to her heart’s content.

Anyone adopting an indoor cat from us needs to be committed to creating a stimulating and enriching indoor environment and ensuring it is safe, i.e. cat proofing any windows that will be opened, and fully cat proofing a balcony or terrace if there is one. When catproofing a balcony this means ensuring it is fully enclosed, not permitting access is not usually sufficient. If their family are using the balcony, the cat should also be able to and whilst a cat will not jump if there is nowhere to go, accidents can and do happen so this is essential to do to ensure the safety of your adopted cat. The adoptions team can offer further advice on this.

Minnaloushe is being fostered in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
