Cramar Cat Rescue and Sanctuary
Rehoming Cats & Kittens: West Midlands
They say that cats sometimes choose their owners.
Sometimes, they also choose a person to rescue them: this is what Alvin did.
Somehow (sixth sense/luck/good judgement?) Alvin decided that one of our staff was the person who could help him when he was living on the streets, so he moved into her porch.  Obviously not ideal, but it seemed to work for both parties in the short term, and it meant that Alvin was getting excellent care, even if he couldn't move in to what was already a multi-cat household, and he was certainly better off than being a stray and having to fend entirely for himself.
He did have shelter, but a front porch is no subsititute for a human lap or a spot on the sofa or next to a radiator, especially with the recent wintery weather when Alvin was found huddled by 'his' front door with a sprinkling of snow on his gorgeous floofy fur (he does have a lot of - long - fur, but even so . . . ).
So now Alvin is in rescue, ready to be viewed and ready for his new home.  We know nothing about Alvin's life before he found his way to that porch, we're not even sure of his age; he's still settling in at Cramar, and is starting to enjoy a fuss, so we are confident that he'll settle well in his new home if he's given time to get used to his new environment and learn to trust his new family.
Obviously he decided he was ready to be 'rescued' when he chose that very important porch in which to shelter - let's make his wish come true.
