Cramar Cat Rescue and Sanctuary
Rehoming Cats & Kittens: West Midlands
When Kieran arrived at Cramar, he was a very frightened young man.  We know nothing of his life before arriving here - it seems that he'd been abandoned, or lost, and was living on the streets.  He obviously has had some experience of being around people, but we have no way of knowing if those experiences were positive or negative: he was so frightened and nervous that we quickly got him into a foster home so he could have lots of one-to-one attention and be in a calm environment - away from the busy life of a rescue.
In his foster home he's discovered his appetite, and his purr; he's learnt to trust his foster mum and he's fallen in love with his toy blue mousey.  However, he may never be a 'typical' cat: he hasn't yet discovered the joys of sitting on a lap, he just about tolerates being picked up for cuddles, he still startles easily at loud noises, and unfamiliar people.  These are behaviours he may never fully outgrow, so it's important that his new people understand this and are prepared to love him unconditionally anyway, with all his little quirks and foibles.  He is very affectionate - on his own terms: once he's decided to trust someone, he will reward them with purrs and head bumps, and little burbled greetings; he will happily play with mouse and feather toys, and he loves the company of other felines.
So - his ideal home would be with calm, patient and understanding people who can give him all the time he needs to settle in and learn to trust.  This could take months, it will not be achieved quickly, but it will be well worth the effort.
He could live with children if they are older (14 years old+); he would happily share his new home with another friendly feline (or even two!) - this would have the advantage of not only being a calming influence on him, but also providing a role model for him in how cats and humans interact; we haven't dog-tested him, and it may be best for him to have a dog-free home, at least initially.
Kieran is staying in his foster home for now, so that he can continue to build his confidence, so if you would like to meet this handsome and charming young man, please contact Cramar (email, or phone - leave a message if the latter) and ask to arrange a meeting with him at the rescue.  He does have very specific requirements, and although he may never be a typical cat, he will be absolutely perfect in his own way!
